How to Install XBMC Eden 11 on ATV2

This is the second part of the series about Apple TV as a HTPC.
Read the first part here.

In this guide you will learn how to jailbreak Apple TV 2 and install XBMC Eden 11 media center on it.

1. Get Apple TV and micro USB cable

Check out the latest price for Apple TV 2 at Amazon.com. In addition, you will need to buy a micro USB cable that is needed to jailbreak the ATV2.

2. Jailbreak Apple TV 2

Download Seasonpass here and follow the installation steps. As the steps are well documented on Seasonpass’ website, I will not repeat them here.

3. Install XBMC Eden 11

Open up your terminal/ssh application on your desktop computer or laptop and enter the following command to log in to your ATV2:
ssh root@192.168.1.35 (or what ever is your ATV2′s IP address)

Enter the default password is which is alpine.

Enter the following commands:

apt-get update

apt-get install org.xbmc.xbmc-atv2

Now you have successfully installed XBMC Eden to your Apple TV.

Just reboot the Apple TV and click the XBMC title on the main menu.

Last but not least perform the following steps to customize your XBMC user interface.
