Logitech Wii keyboard can now be bought half priced only at $25 on Amazon.com. Read further why Logitech Wii keyboard is also a great choice as a HTPC keyboard.

Although, you might get a way with a remote control on most tasks with your HTPC media center, there are situations such as browsing on a web or writing emails, where you will need a HTPC keyboard. Another point is that the keyboard’s look and feel needs to pass the “wife acceptance factor”, so you need to pay a particular attention to the design of the keyboard.

First of, as Logitech Wii keyboard is designed for the Wii game console, it is designed to be used in the living room. So, could this keyboard be used with your HTPC as well. This keyboard is small and slim, a bit like Apple’s bluetooth keyboard. Although keyboard was already released in 2008, it is still very good choice as a HTPC keyboard. It has a robust look and feel so it does not look cheap and provides great value for your money.

I just wonder why Logitech is advertising this keyboard only as a Wii keyboard. It works well with a PC and Mac as well. The problem with most keyboards designed for a PC is that they still look pretty much like the big old keyboard. However, this one is a lightweight beauty with a tiny wireless USB receiver. I guess the HTPC market is too small for Logitech to target, so they are better of advertising this keyboard for the Wii users.

Getting started is as simple as you might expect. Just insert the batteries in and plugin the small USB receiver to your HTPC and you are ready to go.

Pros:
+ Small and very light
+ Compatible with PC
+ Good wireless range
+ Half price offer now at the amazon.com

Cons:
- It is not advertised to support PCs. HTPC enthusiasts are being ignored
- Arrow keys are very close to each other, which might be an issue for some users
